Adventures With Drones

When it comes to our recent drone projects, we take pride in our ability to capture stunning aerial footage for our clients. Aerial filming has become an integral part of our work, allowing us to provide unique perspectives and showcase properties, events, and landscapes in a whole new light.

A CASE STUDY IN LEVERAGING DRONE USE ON CONSTRUCTION SITES

The use of drones in the construction industry has grown significantly, offering various benefits including solutions such as site progression data acquisition. In this Airbear Video case study, we see how drones are used to capture important data over time, providing a comprehensive visual record of construction progress.

This practice is crucial for several reasons:

Key Benefits of Using Drones for Site Progression Data Acquisition

1. Progress Monitoring:
Drones capture high-resolution images and videos regularly, allowing construction and building organisations to monitor the sites progress over months and years.
This continuous documentation provides a clear visual timeline of the construction process, making it easier to track milestones and identify potential delays.

2. Litigation Support:
Having a detailed visual record of the construction process can also serve as vital evidence in case of disputes or litigation. The comprehensive data set helps establish an accurate account of how the build progressed, potentially avoiding legal issues by providing transparent documentation.

3. Time and Cost Savings:
Drones eliminate the need for stakeholders and management to travel to construction sites, which can be spread out across large distances.
This reduction in travel time and expenses translates into significant cost savings and more efficient project management.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration:
The visual data collected by drones can be easily shared with all relevant parties, ensuring everyone involved has a clear understanding of the site’s progress. This enhances communication and collaboration among stakeholders, leading to more informed decision-making.

5. Marketing and Communication:
The high-quality imagery and videos captured by drones can be used for marketing purposes, showcasing the project’s development to potential clients or the public. Internally, these visuals can be used for presentations and reports, making it easier to communicate the project’s status and achievements.

CAPTURING HISTORY FROM ABOVE WITH DRONES

In this exclusive behind-the-scenes look, we dive into our recent drone shoot for PBS America, focusing on safe drone operations while capturing location and action footage for a Period Docu-Drama centered around the ‘Declaration of Independence’.

Filming took place at two iconic historical sites in North Yorkshire, namely Bolton Castle and Kiplin Hall. Our team utilized the DJI Inspire 2 to capture breathtaking aerial shots that truly brought the historical essence of these locations to life on screen.

One of the standout moments during our shoot was capturing a team of horses and a coach arriving at Kiplin Hall. The drone’s nimble maneuverability allowed us to capture this scene with precision and artistry, adding a touch of grandeur to the overall narrative of the Period Docu-Drama.

Ensuring safe drone operations was paramount throughout the shoot, with our skilled team adhering to strict guidelines to guarantee a smooth and incident-free filming process. The combination of advanced technology and expert piloting skills enabled us to navigate the intricate historical sites with ease, capturing every detail from a unique aerial perspective.

As we delved deeper into the storyline of the ‘Declaration of Independence’, our drone footage served as a powerful visual tool, transporting viewers back in time and immersing them in the rich historical tapestry of the era. From sweeping panoramic views of Bolton Castle to intimate close-ups of the coach’s arrival at Kiplin Hall, each shot was carefully crafted to evoke the essence of the period drama.

Through our collaboration with PBS America, we were able to showcase the seamless integration of cutting-edge drone technology with historical storytelling, creating a visually captivating experience for audiences. Hilton Hotel Iceland Drone shoot

The complexity and logistical challenges of drone shoots are not to be underestimated, especially when it involves filming branded content for a prestigious client like Hilton Hotels in a unique location such as Iceland. In this particular case, our client Ether Awe entrusted us with the task of capturing footage at 2 Hilton hotels in Reykjavik, Iceland. What made this assignment even more demanding was the fact that both locations were situated within an airport control zone.

Operating a drone within an airport control zone comes with its own set of safety protocols and planning requirements. The safety of air traffic and personnel on the ground is paramount in such situations. Therefore, meticulous planning and adherence to regulations are essential to ensure a successful and incident-free drone shoot is vital.

As we prepared for the shoot, our team focused on implementing stringent safety measures to mitigate any potential risks. We conducted thorough risk assessments, taking into consideration factors such as airspace restrictions, weather conditions, and proximity to the airport runway. Communication with air traffic control and relevant authorities was crucial to obtain necessary permissions and ensure coordination during the drone flights.

Executing a drone shoot at the end of Reykjavik Airport runway was undoubtedly a high-pressure situation. However, our team’s commitment to safety and meticulous planning paid off as we successfully captured stunning aerial footage for Ether Awe’s branded content. The seamless execution of the shoot was a testament to our dedication to prioritizing safety and complying with regulatory requirements.

In conclusion, the successful completion of this complex and logistically challenging drone shoot for Hilton Hotels in Iceland highlights the importance of prioritizing safety and meticulous planning when conducting drone flights, especially in sensitive locations such as airport control zones. By adhering to stringent safety protocols and regulations, we not only ensured the success of the project but also maintained the integrity of our operations in line with industry best practices
